アメリカン・ロードスター!! 2009 サターン・スカイ・レッドライン
かつて日本でも展開されていた「サターン（Saturn）」ブランドから、2009年モデルのスカイ・レッドラインが発表されました。
ポンティアック・ソルティスと基本設計を共にするこの2シーター・ロードスターは、マツダ・ミアータ（ロードスター）の対抗馬として、現ボブ・ラッツ副会長自らが先頭に立って開発されたクルマ。
従来のGMモデルにはない、まったく新しいジャンルの1台ということもあり、個人的にも応援していきたいクルマです。

サターン・スカイは、最大出力173馬力の2.4リッター直列4気筒NA・DOHCエンジンと、同260馬力の2.0リッター直噴ターボ・DOHCエンジンという2種類のパワーユニットを搭載したコンパクトなロードスター。
特に後者の直噴ターボ・エンジンは、北米市場ではGM初となるものです。
ボディバリエーションはロードスター・モデルのみ。兄弟車のポンティアック・ソルティスにはロードスター以外にクーペ・ボディも用意されていますが、サターン・スカイはロードスターのみという設定です。
トランスミッションは5速MTと5L40式5速ATの2種類。また標準モデルのスカイに加え、本日写真を掲載したホットバージョンのスカイ・レッドラインが用意されています。
