Drag Raceway

僕は大のドラッグレースファン、そしてドラッグレース以外のレースはまったく興味が無いので何を言われてもチンプンカンプン、レーサーの名前も車も分かりません。ですから僕に他のレースの話はしないで下さい。唯一多少分かるのは60年代の Indy とか Can Am とか Trans Am レースです。
密かに日本に完璧なドラッグレース場が出来る事を心待ちにしている一人でもあります。
米軍立川基地でのドラッグレースが無くなり28年が経ち、その間米軍関東村跡地で出来るとか、横田で出来るとか、最近も色々噂は出ますが現状では仙台だけです。

ここに1枚の航空写真があります。僕の大事な資料です。
これは10年程前ハワイ島で火山観光、ヒロの街見学ツアーでヘリコプターに初めて乗った際、ヒロ近郊のドラッグレース場上空を偶然通りかかり撮影に成功しました。
と言っても、まず旅行に行く先々にドラッグレース場があるかどうか必ず下調べをするのでヒロ近郊にドラッグレース場がある事は知っていました。心の中で密かにヘリコプターがその上を飛ばないか期待していたら本当に真上を通過したのです！　そんな事が本当に起きる事もあるのですね。火山とかは二の次、これが見れただけで大満足のハワイ島旅行だったのです。
オアフ島は勿論、マウイ島にもドラッグレース場があるハワイです。日本もハワイと同じ島なのにナゼ、ドラッグレース場が出来ないのでしょうか？写真で見るように長い直線とピットエリアがあればいいので、平らでウナギの寝床みたいな土地で十分です。「土地ならあるぞ～」と言う方いませんか？
ビギナーから簡単に参加できるレースですが、日本ではまるで認知されないレースがドラッグレース、アメリカンレースは日本では駄目なのでしょうか？

I am a big fun of Drag Race. I don't know any thing like names and cars for other races. So please don't ask me about other races. The only races I will know a little about are '60s Indy or Can Am or Trans Am races.
I am one of the fun who hopes and waiting to have perfect Drag Raceway in Japan.
It has been 28 years since US Tachikawa Air Base Drag Raceway has been gone. Rumors were out that other US Base Camp in Tokyo or Yokota will have but only Drag Raceway available now is at Sendai.

Here is a picture, its my own picture an very important one. It was taken about 10 years ago when I visited Hawaii Island. I went on the helicopter tour for volcano and Hilo Town sight seeing and the helicopter flew over the Hilo Drag Raceway. I knew that there was a Drag Raceway in Big Island, as I always search before I go. But not expected to actually fly over the Raceway. Things like this really happens. It was a best treat for me in trip to Hawaii.

There are Drag Raceway in Oahu, Maui Island in Hawaii. Why is there no Drag Raceway in Japan even its same "Island". All you need is long land like on picture for straight Raceway and pit area. Any body with extra "land to spear".
It's easy race and even beginner can join, but Drag Race is not recognized in Japan. Is Drag Race, American Race not good in Japan?
