MOONEYES USA Xmas Party '06 "Show & Drag"

なんて言ってのいいのか、過去にこんなイベントは体験した事ない程、とにかく凄いイベントでした。
車、バイク、人で会場は一杯、横ではDrag Raceが行われ、一日があっと言う間に過ぎてしまいました。昨年までの場所では近隣住民に迷惑を掛けるので今年はIrwindale Speedway、そうですRace場です。Race場なら駐車スペースも、またショースペースも十分だろうと思っていたのですが・・・。 |
| 結果はまたもやパンク状態となり、Race場側は最後にはオーバル コースまでも駐車スペースにし、対応したにも関わらず、周辺の渋滞は解消されず。また、605 フリーウェイのオフランプも渋滞が激しくなり、2時頃にポリスの指示により会場のゲートを閉める事となってしまいました。これで2000年に続き2度目のシャットダウンです。でも今回は前回のように強制解散ではなかったので、イベント自体は続行できましたが、入場できなかった人が沢山でてしまいました。 |
| MOONEYES Xmas PartyはCar Showが見れて、バイクも見れる。Rat Fink Reunion以来、このイベントのメインであるPinstriper＆Artiestが多く参加し、Kustom Kultureが楽しめ、Live Music、ピンナップ ガール コンテストなんかもあり、Artiestの作品Auction, そして今回はDrag Raceもあり・・・とSouthern CaliforniaのKultureがここ Irwindale Speedwayで一つにまとまったのです。こんなイベント今までにありません。これでSurfが加わればまさにSurf & Rodです。 |

MOONEYES USA Xmas Party '06 "Show & Drag"
What can I say, this event was so great that It wasn't like any event I had experienced before. Place was filled with Cars, Motorcycles and people with Drag race going on at side. The day went by so fast. The place we held last year was in the middle of resident area so this year to avoid disturbance to near by neighbors we held it in Irwindale Speedway in California, Yes at race field.
The Race field should be enough to cover the general parking and show space but the result was bigger turn out with all parking filled and soon traffic started by cars that over flown. Even though the Irwindale Speedway had opened oval track to use as parking space for its first time, still it didn't help to dissolve all traffic formed around the Race field. Then the Freeway 605 off ramp traffic started to get too long and finally Police and Highway Patrol stepped into request close the gate at around 2pm. This was the second shut down since year 2000. Though we didn't have to close down the event like last time still there were many people who couldn't make it into the show.
Irwindale Speedway, California has NASCAR Oval track and 1/8 Mile(0-200m) Drag Race strip. It is at very convenient location, only 30 minutes from downtown LA and 20 minutesfrom our shop in Santa Fe Springs. The most popular event at Irwindale Speedway was D1 Drift but the MOONEYES Xmas Party "Show & Drag" made bigger turn out then that event with new record of number of visitors at Speedway.
MOONEYES Xmas Party had Car Show and Motorcycle show with Pinstripers & Artist gathering as main cause of event since Rat Fink Reunion to enjoy the Kustom Kulture, Live Music, Pin-up Girls Contest, Auction of Artiest Art piece and this time Drag Race was added. The Southern California Kulture was gathered all in one event at here in Irwindale Speedway. There was no event like this one in the past. If Surfing gets added then it would really be a Surf & Rod, Southern California Culture!
For people who missed this event this year, please come to the next years'. First Sunday of December is "YOKOHAMA HOT ROD Custom Show" in Yokohama, Japan, Then the second Saturday is MOONEYES Xmas Party at California USA. Let's finish up the year end with MOONEYES hosting Events.
It was a truly impressive event. Tomorrow, MOONEYES Staff's Xmas Party will be hosted in Yokohama Japan.
