"58th Annual Grand National Roadster Show #2"
Following last issue of Motorcycle, This issue is about cars in Grand National Roadster Show (GNRS).
This year 2007 is the 75th anniversary for 1932 Ford Deuce so shows and magazines are showing its high rise and livelier.

In this GNRS, Ford has sponsored one whole hall and filled with Ford Deuce. Inside on exhibition was Deuce on cover of Beach Boys Record "Little Deuce Coupe" and all time famous historical Deuce filled the hall which was one of highlights. And there were many more Deuce displayed at out side too which I was very impressed. Surely the Deuce Factory in Japan will show strong on this year's Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show. Another 25 years will see 100th anniversary, wish best for young ones to make great 100th anniversary. Me, hope I can see it. Wonder if this much of Deuce were here in 50th anniversary in 1982. Usually old cars get less as time pass by but Cobra and Deuce has gained its numbers which is a very strange thing to happen.

MOONEYES had booth at Main Hall. In Main Hall judges were busy judging for this years Most Beautiful Roadster (AMBR). It is a very hard work to get done. This years AMBR was chosen to 1935 Ford Roadster. >> Autoblog
Probably over 1 million dollars has been spent on but most of cars at show were all half million to 1 million over spent on making them. I got used to the high value after spending three days at the show but these values are hard to imagine. These cars are like a diecast cars but in real size figure.

In Main Hall, Pinstripe Reunion was hosted and about 50 pinstripers including our pinstriper Hiro "Wildman" Ishii has gathered there work for three separate auctions. This will be reported on Wildman's Blog which will start on Friday this week.

I saw NASH in here. It was long time no see for him in USA. Now days I don't see many Japanese people at Hot Rods show in USA as before but one of few I see all the time is hard studying owner, Mr. Kishihara of Image Craft who build amazing cars in Japan. I saw him in Long Beach Swap Meet after this too.

Now interesting part of the show out side the Main hall was the Suede Palace which was showing mainly Suede style cars, Music and Kulture representing current Southern California Movement. This year Shifters has been success full with member Alex working as director showing strong at shows compared from last year. Rob Fortie, Editor of Classic Truck Magazine made entry with his very own Chevy with new Paint. I think probably here were the most popular places where people have gathered.
Someone was saying that same car can not make entry for twice but wonder if that's True. It is probably about the cars made entry for contest. This event has long hosting hours. First day was Friday from 12 Noon to 10 in evening, Saturday was 10 in the morning to 10 in the night and last day Sunday was 10 in the morning to 8 in the evening. When they had show in Oakland there were many people in the night but in Pomona there were less people in late in the night. It was cold in this time in California and I came back catching cold.
