2007年7月のMOONEYES USA
MOONEYES USAのOpen House準備にやってきました。7月14日(土)はジャンク物等を販売するMOONEYES Open House。一年に一回この時期に開催しています。
4月に倉庫の大移動を行ったついでに、Shipping＆Receivingのエリアで10年近く常にカバーがされていた部分をあけてみると、中からはDean MOON時代の古いキャビネットやホイル・タイヤ・その他が現れました。
棚の右奥にあるのは往年の名レースカー、日本人にもなじみの深いローラ T70のフロント部分です。タイヤは見てのとおり古いタイプのスリック、ホイルはマグネシュームの為、真っ黒です。このキャビネット、古くてかっこいいのでガレージへ移動しました。
完成近くなったMOONEYES Dragsterは汚れる作業も少ないので、製作場所をガレージに移動し、Machine ShopではBonneville用Roadsterの製作に拍車が掛かっています。が、写真からもわかると思いますが今年のBonnevilleはまず間に合いません。2008年ですね。年内にEl Mirageで走れればいいですね。
ところで今まで一度も紹介できなかったのが人力車のボディを使い、フロントに日本製スズキT250（Tだったと思います）をくっつけたTrike、それがこのMOON Trikeです。
なぜDeanはこれを作ったのか謎ですが、実はこのTrikeどうしようか15年間困っています。
Went to prepare for MOONEYES USA OPEN HOUSE. The Saturday July 14th is the one day in a year for selling Junk and serving free hamburger to customer for our appreciation to supporting MOONEYES.
In April while cleaning up the warehouse we found Dean MOON's Old cabinet, wheels, tires and more from under the sheet cover for 10 years. The front clip on the right is from the famous old school race car Lora T-70 which was very popular in Japan back in late 60s too. Tire is the old school slick and wheel is magnesium and turned black. This cabinet was old and cool so moved to garage.
The MOONEYES Dragster is about to complete, with less dirty work, it was moved from machine shop to garage. The Bonneville Roadster is built in Machine shop rushed for completion. But from the picture, it will not finish before this years Bonneville in August. In 2008, it will be ready. Lucky if we make it to El Mirage before this year's season is over.
By the way I didn't introduce even once and this Trike is the Rikshaw body with Suzuki T-250 in front. I don't know why Dean MOON made it but I am thinking about what to do for 15 years.
