Barris Kustom
この二日間、今年のHOT ROD・Custom Showに呼ぶ車とバイクを見るのであっちこっちを走り回り、最後に到着したのがPomonaにあるNHRA Museumでした。それも閉館45分前、普通なら6ドルですが時間が短いので「寄付 1ドルでいいよ」ってオジサン（お爺さん）が言ってくれたので、嬉しくて寄付の理由を聞き忘れました。
奥に進むと何と！Barris Kustomの特集（？）をやっていたのです。Barrisの車を一同に見れることはあまり無かったので、7台も見れるとはラッキーでした。中でもBarrisが日系Bob Hirohataに作った有名な"Hirohata Mercury"があったのです。それもクローンではなく本物です。オリジナルがちゃんと残っている所がUSAの車文化はすごいですね。
いつまでやっているか聞き忘れましたが、一度NHRA ミュージアムを訪れてください。心が和む場所です。
In these two days, I have been going round to see people, bike and cars for inviting to this years HOT ROD Custom Show and last stop was the NHRA Museum in Pomona. It was 45 minutes before the close and its usually six dollars but as time is short the man at ticket said one dollar for donation is fine, I was so happy and forgot to ask what we are donating for.
The NHRA museum hosted special event "Barris Kustom Special". It was rare to see 7 Barris cars in one place at one time. Specially the famous "Hirohata Mercury" which Barris made for Japanese American Bob Hirohata. This was original and not clone. USA car culture is amazing how originals are still left. I forgot to ask how long this Special show is going on but please visit NHRA Museum. It heals heart.
