US Drag Team その2

それでは、Goodwoodへ行った、2008 US Drag Teamのメンバーを簡単に紹介しましょう。
The 2008 US Drag Team members and 10 other dragsters that went to Goodwood are briefly introduced below.


1)　1955 #25 Art Chrisman's Dragster

2） 1959 Hustler, Art Chrisman's
Art Chrismanはお父さんで、Mikeは息子さんです。 Nitro Dragsterです。

3） 1956 The Glass Slipper
このクルマ、MOON Equipment創業時、MOON Discsの広告に貢献したそうです。
Ed Cortopassi とDoug Butlerの2人がオーナーです。
This car contributed to ads for MOON Equipment when the company first started.
Owners of "Glass Slipper" Ed Cortopassi & Doug Butler.


4） 1961 Showboat
Tommy Ivoの有名なShow Boat、今回はNHRA　Museumから出展でした。

5） 1962 Barnstormer
これもTommy IvoがドライブしたNitro Dragster、Ron Johnsonの手により復活しました。

9） 1979 Over the Hill Gang Nitro Top Fuel
今回唯一のリアエンジンDragster
The only rear-engine Dragster of the group.


10） 1963 Charlie Bang Special Dragster
イギリスからのエントリーでした。
Entry from United Kindgom.

11） 1961 MOONEYES Dragster
Shige Suganuma & Chico Kodama.


全てのイベントを消化した、US Dragteamの集合です。
2008 US Drag Team.

本来、Goodwood Festival of Speedは、歴代のCan Am, Formula 1とか、古い古いレースカーが、会場内にあるヒルクライムレースをするのがメインで、僕もそれらの車が見たくて、昔から興味がありました。
会場には多くのレースカーと、有名レーサーが居たようですが、僕はスターリングモスしか分りませんでした。

ローラのフォーミュラです。この時代のフォーミュラはカッコいいです。ミラーはGT500タイプ。

これもローラですが、Indy Carです。何かUSのピットにいる感じがします。

これもIndy Carです。Indyは左回りなので、この用に右サスペンションを長くしたのが特徴でした。　
1968年頃、富士スピードウエイでIndyが開催され、そのIndy用足回りで、オーバルコースでない富士をIndy Carが走ったのですから凄い企画でした。その時、Dean MOONも来日しています。


これはIndy用ロータスフォードですか？

その他フェラーリ、

マクラーレン、ロータス等のフォーミュラーもありました。

こちらはCan Am Carのローラ T-160と、

T-70。

そして、マクラーレンM8Fと、Dean MOONのバディーが首謀していた、AVS Shadow MK1は、ドライバーが丸見えで、ゴーカートみたいな感じです。


Ford GT40もあれば、

こんなに古いのが走っていたり、新しいそうなのも走たり、

朝から晩まで、一日中走り回っているイベントです。

でも昔のIndy, Can Am, Formula等、皆カッコイイですね。

It's a tradition at Goodwood　Festival of Speed to feature many generations of Can Am, Formula 1 and other types of old race cars. The main event is the hill climb race. I have always been interested in these cars and have been wanting to see this for a long time.

There were a lot of race cars and many famous racer car drivers there at GOODWOOD FoS but I only knew of Sir Stirling Moss.

Lola Formula. This generation Formula is cool.Mirror is a GT500 type This is a Lola, however an Indy Car.I feel like I'm in the US Pits.

This is also an Indy Car. Indy is a left-turning oval track so a main characteristic is the right side suspension like this.

A long time ago, around 1968, Indy was held at Fuji Speedway. For these Indy cars that were made for oval-tracks to run on a course like Fuji took severe planning.

During that time, Dean MOON also came to Japan.

Is this an Indy Lotus/Ford?

Other machines included Ferrari, McLaren, Lotus and many other Formula cars.

This is a Can Am Car, Lola T-160 and T-70 and a McLaren M8F, also Dean MOON's buddy designed AVS Shadow MK1 - in which the driver is exposed so much it looks like a Go-cart.

A Ford GT40, some really old ones running and more recent models, from the morning to the evening - the entire day - racers took on the hill climb event.

All of these old Indy, Can Am, Formula and other race cars are so awesome.
