Hot Rod Custom Show DVD Filming

日曜日,　Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2009 にやって来る Gabe と Maｒｋ の DVD撮影に同行してきました。ここ数年、非常に動きのあるDVDをお届けしていますが　製作から撮影まで一人でこなす Garage Production の Toru 君の迫力ある撮影シーンをお見せします。

On Sunday, I went the watch the filming for the DVD of Gabe & Mark riding together. They are coming to the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2009 in December. For several years now, all the work it takes running around filming and recording as well as production and editing has been handle by one person, Toru of Garage Production. It is with his talents we are able to present these scenes.


まずは撮影に使う車です。後方から撮影できる方が便利ですが最近のステーションワゴンはテールのガラスは
動きませんので撮影には向いていないのです。そこで登場するのがToru君のトリノ　ステーションワゴンです。
First, the all important chase vehicle used for filming. Taking shots from the back is really handy with a station wagon but the newer models have fixed rear tailgate window glass which are not suitable for using. That's where Toru's Torino station wagon comes into play..
　

この車はテールゲートのガラスが下がるので室内を動き回れば左右後方と3アングルで撮影が可能になります。まずは Mono Pot (１脚） にカメラを取り付け高いアングルからの撮影です。
This car's tailgate glass rolls down and it's easy to move around from left to right in the back so you have three different angles to shoot from. First, Mono Pot (1 point) is where we fix the camera and get a high angle shot.


2台の並走シーンをとらえるカメラのレンズが右隅に見えます。
次はテールゲートの窓を降ろし後方からの撮影です。このシーンを取るにはこの年代のステーションワゴンは欠かせません。　
To capture the two bikes in one scene, the camera is positioned with a lens to pick up diagonally from a corner. Next is an angle from the tailgate, with the back down. Having this generation station wagon you can't be beat.


San Pendroの橋を渡り始めた2台、Gabeを撮影していると、
As the 2 bikes are crossing the San Pendro bridge, while Gabe is being filmed,


Gabeが振り返りました。その時写真を撮っている僕には何が起きたのか分かりませんでした。
実はMono Potに取り付けたカメラでローアングルからの撮影をしている最中、
カメラを下げ過ぎファインダーが路面にブツカリ　飛んで行ってしまったのです。
Gabe turned his head to look back. At that moment, I happen to take a picture and wasn't sure if something just happened or not. Come to find out, the Mono Pot holding the camera at a low angle was lowered too far and touched the surface of the road and the view finder went flying off.


あやうくファインダーの直撃を避けた Gabe がその行方を確認していたのでした。
結果　ファインダーは飛んで無くなりました。
Almost taking a direct hit, Gabe was able to avoid it and also looked back to see where it landed.
But the result were that the viewer was not found.


あまりにローアングルを狙い過ぎた結果の事故でした。　
最後に夕暮れ迫るブリッジを並走で、こんなに体を乗り出して撮っています。
This was the result of wanting to go to a extreme low angle shot.
The last scene, evening was drawing near as we crossed the bridge and look how far he's hanging out the window to get the shot.
